Pensioenfonds PostNL current funding ratio falls to 131.9%

The current funding ratio of Pensioenfonds PostNL decreased slightly over the past month from 131.9 per cent in October to 131.7 per cent in November 2024, its latest update has revealed.

This marked a year-on-year fall, as the current funding ratio previously stood at 134.7 per cent at the same time last year.

Interest rates fell slightly in the past month, which has had a negative impact on the current funding ratio.

However, the value of investments rose in November, which had a positive effect on the funding ratio.

Therefore, the fall in interest rates had a greater effect than the increase in investments. This will lead to a decrease in the current funding ratio in November 2024.

The group's policy funding ratio, the average of the current coverage ratios of the past 12 months, stood at 132 per cent.

The pension fund also has a crisis plan that provides guidance.
