Jacques Van Dijken takes on mantle of PensionsEurope chairperson

PensionsEurope has elected Jacques Van Dijken as its chairperson, succeeding Jerry Moriarty.

He currently serves as vice-chairperson of PensionsEurope and holds senior positions within the Federation of Dutch Pension Funds and Stichting Pensioenfonds Medisch Specialisten.

Van Dijken was elected during the PensionsEurope board meeting held on 11 April 2025 and he will serve as chairperson until the next General Assembly in November 2025.

The association said he brings extensive experience in the pensions and financial services sector, with a career spanning leadership role in insurance, reinsurance, pension fund management, and advisory services.

Moriarty left the role when he retired as CEO from the Irish Association of Pension Funds (IAPF) in February and ABA secretary general, Klaus Stiefermann, has filled the role during the interim.

PensionsEurope thanked Moriarty for his service as chairperson and added that, since his election in November 2023, he has provided valuable guidance and leadership, building on his longstanding experience in the industry.

“Under his chairmanship, PensionsEurope has continued to reinforce its role as a key stakeholder in European pension policy. PensionsEurope welcomes this new chapter under the leadership of Jacques Van Dijken and expresses its sincere gratitude to Jerry Moriarty for his commitment and contribution to the association,” the association said in a statement.
