PFZW acquires 49% stake in Penta Infra

The Dutch fund for the care and welfare sector Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn (PFZW) has acquired a 49 per cent stake in Penta Infra, through its investment manager, PGGM.

Penta Infra is a Netherlands-based developer and operator of data centres at locations in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark.

The pension fund noted how high-quality data centres not only play an important role in the further digitalisation of society, but also the protection of data is becoming increasingly important.

“Certainly, in a sector such as healthcare and welfare, customers such as Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden (MCL), University Hospital Brussels and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel now use Penta Infra solutions,” it stated.

The company has a new data centre in Brussels, which is a leader in the field of sustainability as it uses 100 per cent green energy, reusing residual heat and closed water systems.

“With this investment, we not only contribute to improving the digital infrastructure. It also delivers good, stable returns for our participants and pensioners,” the pension fund said.
