New board members appointed to Swedish AP funds

The Swedish government has appointed new members to several of the country’s AP funds.

Members of the AP funds’ boards are appointed by law on the basis of their ability to promote fund management.

They are appointed for one year at a time, with a limitation of approximately eight years.

The government has appointed Lars Fresker and Linda Jonsson as new members of AP1’s board, with Kent Eriksson, Per Klingbjer and Charlotte Nordström leaving the board.

Fresker is a professional officer and union chair of the Officers' Association, while Jonsson is a regional councillor with responsibility for sustainability and gender equality in the Norrbotten Region, as well as a member of the Regional Board and the Board of Sweden's Municipalities and Regions.

Fresker was nominated by SACO and Jonsson was nominated by SKR.

The government also appointed Torbjörn Dalin as a new member of the AP2's board and named Ingrid Albinsson as vice chair of the board from 1 August 2023.

Meanwhile for AP3’s board, Christer Löfdahl was appointed as a new member, while Malin Björkmo and Magnus Emfel have left the board following “several years of positive contributions to the fund's development”.

The Swedish government also announced an appointment for AP7’s board, with Elisabeth Frayon succeeding Tonika Hirdman.

All members are appointed from and including 25 May 2023 until the government approves the AP funds' profit and loss accounts and balance sheets for 2023.
