Swedish Pensions Agency appoints Kristian Seth as head of research

The Swedish Pensions Agency has appointed Kristian Seth as the new head of the analysis department.

He will take up his position on 20 August and succeed Elin Berglöf, who has been acting head of the analysis department.

Seth currently serves as secretary general of the government's productivity commission and previously headed the business department at the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation.

Before this, Seth was the head of analysis at the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth and a long-time manager and employee at the Ministry of Finance's budget department.

He also has experience as the permanent secretary for the EU Budget Unit, the contact person for pension issues, and the expert in the Pension Age Inquiry.

Swedish Pensions Agency director general, Anna Pettersson Westerberg, commented on his appointment: "I am very pleased that Kristian Seth has accepted the position of head of analysis at the Swedish Pensions Agency.

"Kristian Seth has a very broad and solid experience of qualified analysis work in many different areas, but also specifically of the welfare systems and especially the pension system," she said.

Seth added: "It feels extremely inspiring and honouring. I know I am coming to a business characterised by great competence and professionalism.

"I also think that the pension system is a bit of a crown jewel in the Swedish economy. Something that must be cherished and cared for tenderly, and I am really looking forward to contributing to this together with the employees in the analysis department."
