PensionDanmark announces plans to invest in 230 new homes

Danish pension company PensionDanmark has announced plans to invest in building 230 homes in Kildedal By, a new town jointly developed by the pension company and Ballerup Municipality.

The planned city will have between 1,800 and 2,000 homes and 5,000 jobs when fully completed in 10-15 years.

The 230 new homes will be south of the S-train line between Ballerup and Frederikssund.

The plans also include a mobility house southwest of the S-train line in Kildedal, with the homes expected to be ready for occupancy in 2029.

"We are very much looking forward to combining natural surroundings and easy everyday life in Kildedal By", PensionDanmark project development director, Kim Bøgvad Larsen, said.

"Here, strong natural values will meet with exceptionally good infrastructure and create an attractive urban area for the benefit of the local area, future residents and our members' pension returns," she added.

Meanwhile, the company Kildedal P/S is developing activities that will make the city cohesive, such as shared facilities, an underpass for bicycles and pedestrians under the railway, and establishing Kildedal City Park, which will become the city's green belt.

Ballerup mayor, Jesper Würtzen, said he was delighted with the prospect of a city that would attract many different types of immigrants.

"For families with children, the municipality itself is ready with a new children's home next door to PensionDanmark's homes," he continued.

"We are building Kildedal By with varied living arrangements to create a diverse city with its own shopping facilities, schools, and institutions. The area will attract young people and students, families with children, those whose villas have become too big, or those drawn to nature.

"At the same time, the city can attract the many employees visiting the area's life science companies. I am looking forward to following the development of city life in Kildedal By," added the mayor.
