Finnish earnings-related pension transfers totals 5,100 in Q1 – Tela

The number of Finnish earnings-related pension transfers totalled 5,100 in the first quarter of 2022, according to the Finnish Pensions Alliance (Tela).

This is the number of earnings-related pension insurance policies transferred from one pension insurance company to another.

Broken down, transfers under the Employees Pensions Act (TyEL) numbered 2,180 and under the Self-Employed Persons’ Pensions Act (YEL) 2,929. The total volume of the transfers (TyEL) was €118,160.

Policyholders can transfer their TyEL/YEL policies from one pension insurance company to another provided that the earnings-related pension insurance has been obtained from the same company for at least one year before the transfer.

Transfers between companies have four deadlines during the year: on the first day of January, April, July and October.
