Pensioenfonds Stichting ING appoints Roeland van Vledder as independent chairman

Dutch pension fund, Pensioenfonds Stichting ING, has appointed Roeland van Vledder as its new independent chairman, effective from 1 June 2025.

An independent director, commissioner and supervisor in the pension and insurance sector, Van Vledder succeeds the current chairman of the fund, Hans van der Knaap, who is stepping down from the role after more than eight years.

Van Vledder has 30 years' experience in the financial industry, including more than 23 years at ING and six years at Fortis/ASR, most recently as a member of the board of directors. At ING, he worked for a long time in retail banking before switching to the insurer.

"We thank Hans van der Knaap for his commitment to the fund and its participants and for the pleasant cooperation in recent years," the Pensioenfonds Stichting ING board stated.

"We congratulate Roeland on his new position and wish him much success."
