PensionDanmark, KIRKBI and CPH Village, together with the design studios Juul Frost Arkitekter, ReVærk and MEE Studio, have entered into the 'Clay Alliance' to investigate how rammed clay soil can be used in construction.

The alliance received a grant from the philanthropic association Realdania to carry out the initial investigations. PensionDanmark Ejendomme director, Marius Møller, said: "The construction industry accounts for a significant part of the world's total CO2 emissions, and this calls for innovation and broad partnerships.”

Finnish pension provider Keva is organising coaching and training for staff members based on its cornerstores of leadership and work.

Keva’s aim as a responsible employer is that each and every employee knows what is expected of them. Besides the goals in their own work, expectations arise from management and how colleagues work together. The cornerstones are expected to help Keva put into words and develop the desired operating culture, which includes successful and effective teamwork. Keva HR specialist, Laura Sundqvist, said: “We are now organising coaching and training based on the cornerstones. On top of this, the wording will also be visible in setting work targets and in assessing performance. The cornerstones are also part of onboarding and tell new Keva employees how we are managed and how we work together.”

The trustees of the BAE Systems Pension Scheme and BAE Systems Executive Pension Scheme have appointed Goldman Sachs Asset Management to manage around £23bn in UK defined benefit (DB) pension scheme assets.

The appointment, which followed a highly competitive tender process, marks the largest Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) mandate in the UK to date. The agreement is expected to deliver performance and cost benefits for the schemes through the greater scale and efficiency. Redington and Travers Smith advised the scheme trustees on the appointment, while the sponsoring employer, BAE Systems, received advice from PwC.
