Varma appoints board of directors

Finnish earnings-related pension provider Varma’s board of directors has voted that Jaakko Eskola will continue as the chairman of the board and STTK chairman, Antti Palola, will also continue as vice chairman.

Meanwhile, StaffPoint Group CEO, Anu Ahokas, was appointed as the second vice chairman of the board.

The board also elected Eskola as Nomination and Remuneration Committee chairman, while Palola will continue as a member, and Ahokas was elected as a new member.

In addition to this, Teo Ottola, chairman from 1 January 2025, Anja Frada, and Palola will continue as members of the Audit Committee. Kristiina Mäkelä was elected as a new member.

The board also set out that Fortum Corporation executive vice president, Simon-Erik Ollus, Akava ry director, Pekka Piispanen, and Confederation of Finnish Trade Unions SAK director, Saana Siekkinen, made up the rest of the composition of Varma’s board of directors.

Varma’s deputy members include the Association of Finnish Business School Graduates executive director, Jari Elo, the Confederation of Finnish Industry and Employers Foundation secretary general, Jouni Hakala, and Sampo Group investment director, Ville Talasmäki.
