Participants of Czech children’s pension surpass 170k – APS

The number of participants in the Czech Republic’s children’s pension scheme increased to 170,750 at the end of September, according to figures from the Association of Pension Companies of the Czech Republic (APS).

The scheme is available to those under 18, with the monthly contribution paid by their legal guardian, and is part of the country’s supplementary pension system (DPS). At the end of September, the average monthly contribution was CZK 584.

Publishing quarterly figures for DPS, the APS also revealed that 6,928 participants received an early retirement from DPS at the end of 30 September 2025.

The number of early pensions drawn from DPS increased by 300 quarter-on-quarter, a figure similar to that between the first and second quarters of this year, APS said.

The average amount of early retirement paid was CZK 16,169.

At the end of 2024, 6,045 people received DPS, with an average payment of CZK 15,552.

This is an increase of more than 1,000 early pensioners, and a CZK 800 increase in the average amount paid.

Earlier this month, the APS said that the new Czech Republic pension savings system, DPS, will overtake the old pension system, both in terms of the number of participants and the volume of funds.

During Q3 2025, a total of 3,902,756 participants saved and invested in pension companies, with assets for these savers amounting to CZK 644,177bn.
