Obituary: George de Booij

The Dutch pension fund PMT (for workers in the metal and engineering sector) has announced that its board member, George de Booij, has died.

The pension fund said it was saddened to learn of George’s death. He had made an important contribution to the board in recent years by representing the interests of PMT’s participants and employers.

George had experience on the employer side, including the trade association BOVAG, and brought valuable insights that enriched PMT's policy. His contribution made him a valued board member.

Within the PMT board, his focus was primarily on audit, IT, risk management and strategy. During his term as a board member, George was part of the Risk and Finance Committee and the Investments Committee.

“His financial background and experience in risk management and auditing made a valuable contribution to both committees. In this capacity, George was also a member of the administrative working group responsible for producing PMT's annual report,” PMT stated.

It continued: “We are grateful to George for his contribution to PMT and will remember him as a committed director with a passion for the metal and technology sector and a good sense of humour. We will miss him.

“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.”
