- Sweden's KPA Pension has invested SEK 200m in a bond issued by the City of Gothenburg, allowing the city to continue its efforts to address climate change, reduce emissions and ensure long-term resource efficiency.
The major projects in Gothenburg City Council's project portfolio that the funds will be allocated to include BKV Rya, Göteborg Energi AB, Riskullaverket, Göteborg Energi, Stormwater Pond and Packhuskajen. Commenting, Folksam Group business developer, Mark Johnson, said: “The City of Gothenburg is working in an exemplary way to reduce the impact on the climate while strengthening its resilience to climate change. It is a combination that appeals to a pension company like KPA Pension with the mission to create returns and secure pensions for our customers through sustainable investments.”
- Finland’s Varma has become a partner of Slush 2025, an event for growth companies and technology. 
The event brings together investors, growth entrepreneurs and international influencers at Messukeskus, Helsinki, for two days on 19–20 November 2025. The pension insurer already invests heavily in Finnish businesses and intends to use the partnership to connect with entrepreneurs, support innovation, and help build new success stories in the country’s economy.
- Finland’s Ilmarinen has announced that the renovation of the Post Office building, Postitalo, located in the heart of Helsinki, has been completed.
Ilmarinen was the project manager responsible for renovating the Postitalo building in central Helsinki. The refurbishment modernised over 5,700 square meters of office space while preserving the building’s architectural heritage. Ilmarinen upgraded the technical systems, improved energy efficiency with solar panels, and achieved a recycling rate of more than 85 per cent during renovation. The project was carried out in cooperation with the Helsinki City Museum and Building Control Department.
- Dutch pension fund PMT chairman Terry Troost attended the start of the construction of the De Sax residential tower in Rotterdam, expected to be completed in 2030.
De Sax is a large-scale new construction project on the Wilhelminapier in Rotterdam, which consists of two residential towers: Havana and Philadelphia. 
The project comprises a total of 916 apartments, of which 822 are designated as rental homes. Pension funds PMT and PME will each acquire 411 rental homes. Of these, 229 fall within the affordable rental category.
- Finland’s public sector pension fund Keva is involved in a campaign that aims to increase the attractiveness of the municipal and welfare sector, especially among 15–19-year-olds.
Next Tuesday (4 November), the ICONS campaign will be launched, aimed at familiarising people with professions and job opportunities in the municipal sector and wellbeing services counties. The campaign is carried out in partnership with the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities, Local Government and County Employers KT, Keva and MuniFin. The campaign depicts the career stories of six young professionals through videos, pictures and text. It will be on social media channels popular among young people, such as TikTok and Instagram.
- Italy’s Pension Funds Supervisory Commission (COVIP) commissioner met with European Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investment Union (SIU) to discuss the Savings and Investment Union (SIU) strategy. 
COVIP commissioner, Mariacristina Rossi, met with European Commissioner for Financial Services and the SIU, Maria Luís Albuquerque, at the headquarters of the European Commission Representation in Italy to discuss the SIU Strategy. Particular attention was paid to initiatives aimed at strengthening and developing the supplementary pension sector.
