News in brief: 27 September

- Denmark’s Sampension has joined forces with AKF and the Brøndby Municipality to develop the area over a 20-year period.

The partnership, which plans to transform an area of approximately, 250,000m2, has applied to the Danish National Social Appeals Board for authorisation to establish an area development company. When authorisation has been granted and several ongoing technical studies have been completed, the parties will decide on whether to proceed with the project.

- Sweden’s LF Gotland is to add two new funds to its fund catalogue for those with unit-linked insurance.

The BlackRock World Technology and Enter Cross Credit funds will be included in the range in September. In addition, five funds will be replaced during September and October to ensure savers get the highest and most sustainable pension possible. BlackRock World Technology is a global equity fund that invests in technology companies. Enter Cross Credit is a fixed-income fund that invests in investment-grade bonds and high-yield bonds. The funds promote sustainability in line with EU regulations (Article 8, light green).

- Belgium’s Federal Pensions Service (SFP) has launched a new podcast, ‘Parlons Pension’ (Let’s Talk Pension) for residents.

The first of its kind from the SFP, the podcast is available on all major podcast platforms. It provides simple and accessible explanations on a “complex but also very important subject for all (future) pensioners”. The first three podcast episodes focus on planning your pension, applying for a pension and working during your pension.
