- The Finnish Centre for Pensions (ETK) is inviting submissions from those who wish to present findings on relevant finished or ongoing research on pensions, retirement, careers and population ageing.

It particularly welcomes, but not exclusively, studies on the effects of pension reforms on employment, retirement and income. Both single-country and comparative studies are considered. Those interested must submit their full paper or an extended abstract via Webropol by 2 December 2024 and successful applicants will present at ETK’s Pension Research Forum.

- The Swedish Fund Selection Agency (FTN) is hosting a digital information session for fund managers on Tuesday 5 November.

During the live briefing, FTN will share information about the 2025 procurement plan, provide updates on ongoing procurements and answer related questions. The session is primarily aimed at stakeholders involved in or who will participate in FTN's procurements. The briefing will be conducted in English, recorded, and made available on FTN's website the week following the event.

- The CEO of Finnish earnings-related pension provider Varma, Risto Murro, has published a book titled, Why did Finland stop? - Guidelines for new economic growth.

In his book, Murto looks for the reasons for the long decline of the Finnish economy and ways to revive it. Murto said: “The book is a follow-up to my book Missing half a million, published a couple of years ago. It dealt with the impact of population growth on Finland, but now I focus on another key factor of economic growth, productivity."
