Linklaters appoints Philip Goss as head of global pensions practice

Linklaters has appointed Philip Goss as the head of its global pensions practice, effective immediately.

He succeeds Claire Petheram, who has recently completed her eight-year term leading the practice.

Goss currently holds the role of pensions partner in the firm’s London office and has experience advising trustees, corporates and insurers on all areas of pensions law.

He has experience in various areas, including de-risking buy-in and buyout transactions, endgame planning, scheme mergers, liability mitigation, investment matters, scheme funding negotiations and arrangements, stressed schemes, and corporate transactions and restructurings.

Goss has advised trustees and sponsors of major pension schemes and has led on many high-profile cases.

Commenting on the appointment, Linklaters global head of corporate, Simon Branigan, said: “It has been a pleasure working with Claire in this role. She has done an amazing job, and we’d like to thank her for her dedication and her relentless drive and ambition for the pensions practice.

“I look forward to working closely with Phil as he continues to further strengthen our top pensions capabilities globally.”
