Lea Bouwmeester appointed to PGGM members’ council

Lea Bouwmeester has been appointed as independent chairman of PGGM members' council, taking over from Tim de Jong who was in the role for eight years.

Bouwmeester has held various administrative and supervisory positions within the sector and is known for her energy, enthusiasm and community involvement.

PGGM said she has a clear drive and innovative ideas to effectively apply the knowledge and experience of the members' council to the challenges in the care and welfare sector.

Since 2017, Bouwmeester has been the owner of Buro de Bouwmeesters, where she focuses on healthcare innovation, dialogue and innovation. She currently chairs the Federation for Health. She was also a member of the House of Representatives for 10 years, of which she held healthcare in her portfolio from 2012 to 2017.

PGGM CEO, Edwin Velzel, said: "I am very pleased with Lea's arrival. PGGM's member council is an important platform and sounding board for us. Lea is able to do justice to member council input in an interactive way like no other."
