Insurance and Pension Denmark’s employer organisation F&P Arbejdsgiver has begun collective bargaining with the Danish insurance federation, Forsikringsforbundet.
It is the first time that collective bargaining in the insurance and pension sector is taking place between the two parties, as F&P Arbejdsgiver is a new employer organisation that was created in November 2023.
However, both organisations have experienced negotiators, which will be led by Forsikringsforbundet’s national chairman, Charlotte Hougaard, and F&P Arbejdsgiver's CEO, Sanne Claudius Stadil.
Hougaard said Forsikringsforbundet will, among other things, prioritise issues such as salary for its members and how it is implemented.
“At the same time, we would very much like to find common solutions to the well-being challenges we experience in the industry and ensure that employees have good opportunities for skills development and continuing education," she said.
For employers, Claudius Stadil emphasises flexibility and competitiveness as key themes.
"Our member companies particularly point to greater flexibility in collective agreements and competitiveness as important themes. I have no doubt that the negotiations will be difficult and tough, but we are taking a constructive approach on both sides," Claudius Stadil said.
Forsikringsforbundet and F&P Arbejdsgiver have exchanged the demands that the parties will negotiate. The first negotiation meeting will take place at the end of January. The collective agreement covers over 13,500 employees in the insurance and pension industry.
The new collective agreement will enter into force on 1 April 2025.
