F&P Arbejdsgiver secures new collective agreement for Danish insurance and pension industry

Insurance and Pension Denmark’s employer organisation F&P Arbejdsgiver has successfully secured a new collective agreement for employees in the insurance and pensions industry.

The negotiations between F&P Arbejdsgiver and the Danish insurance federation, Forsikringsforbundet, began in December 2024. After lengthy negotiations, Forsikringsforbundet and F&P Arbejdsgiver have agreed on a new three-year collective agreement (OK25) for more than 13,500 employees.

The agreement has secured salary increases for employees over the period, flexible working agreements and it has established a joint wellbeing partnership to support companies in promoting wellbeing and a good psychological working environment.

In addition, as part of the agreement, all employees will be entitled to one day off with pay in connection with their preparation for exams (IDD). It also provides better conditions for families, such as 26 weeks paid parental leave and paid time off work in connection with fertility treatment.

Finally, the agreement has secured better conditions for senior workers, such as opportunities to work part time.

The negotiations were led by the now former F&P Arbejdsgiver CEO, Sanne Claudius Stadil.

Commenting, Claudius Stadil, said: “There have been some tough negotiations, but we have succeeded in agreeing on a good agreement that can support our members' competitiveness and need for a flexible framework – and which also contains several new initiatives to promote wellbeing so that the industry can continue to retain and attract talented employees.”

The new OK25 agreement must now be approved by the Danish Insurance Association's Board of Representatives. If the agreement is approved, it must be voted on by the members of the Danish Insurance Association. If a majority are in favour of the collective agreement, the new collective agreement will enter into force on 1 April 2025.

It was also announced that following the negotiations Claudius Stadil has resigned from the position of CEO and Anders Terp-Hansen will take on the role from 1 April 2025.

Commenting on the departure, I&P Denmark CEO, Kent Damsgaard, said: “Sanne jumped in at short notice 11/2 years ago, where she took on the task of building F&P Arbejdsgiver. She leaves behind a fantastic imprint, which she has created together with the other talented colleagues in F&P Arbejdsgiver.

“I have great understanding of her desire to retire, but it says everything about her skill and sense of duty that she first wanted to secure a good collective agreement result so that the baton can be passed on in the best way. She has delivered a formidable effort, for which she deserves great thanks.”

Terp-Hansen joins from a position as head of HR operations at ATP and also has experience from Coop Denmark, Novo Nordisk and the Confederation of Danish Industry.
