Swedish pension provider Alecta has appointed David Bergstrand as head of the actuarial function, effective 7 April 2026.
Bergstrand joins Alecta from Nordnet Pensionsförsäkring AB, where he also served as head of the actuarial function.
He has also previously worked as an actuary at Folksam and SEB Pension and Insurance.
Commenting on the appointment, Alecta CEO, Peder Hasslev, said it is “very gratifying” to welcome Bergstrand as head of the actuarial function at Alecta.
“David is a knowledgeable actuary with extensive experience in our industry. In this important role, he will contribute to making Alecta a safer and better company for our customers," he continued.
Adding to this, Bergstrand said he believes it “will be very exciting to start at Alecta”.
“Alecta is Sweden's largest occupational pension company with a large number of customers. The size, combined with the fact that it is also the customers who own the company, makes this an important and responsible assignment that I am really looking forward to," he added.
