Seven in 10 (72 per cent) Norwegians wish they had received information about pensions earlier in their working lives, according to a survey by Norstat on behalf of the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK).
The survey of approximately 1,000 Norwegian adults found that more women share this opinion than men – 75 per cent of women compared to 68 per cent of men.
In terms of age, the highest share of respondents who wish they had been provided with pensions information earlier is those aged 50-59, where 79 per cent agreed.
Commenting, SPK pension expert, Lars Martin Bjørnsrud Hopmoen, said that people should focus on finding out what specifically applies to them rather than the “entire rulebook”.
Pension savers were also advised to check their employer pension contributions and whether their employment contract also includes cover for illness and death.
