Wiltshire Pension Fund appoints Barnett Waddingham as adviser

The Wiltshire Pension Fund has appointed Barnett Waddingham to deliver actuarial, benefits and governance, and fund risk consultancy services, after agreeing on a five-year contract with the group.

Barnett Waddingham was selected following a competitive selection and tendering process.

The Wiltshire Pension Fund has an asset value of over £3.2bn, over 180 participating employers and more than 86,000 members.

Commenting on the appointment, Wiltshire Pension Fund head, Jennifer Devine, said the fund was “pleased” to announce that following the competitive tendering process, Barnett Waddingham came out as its actuary of choice.

“During the tender process, we assessed services to employers/board/committee/fund, actuarial approaches, knowledge of the fund, its demographic and cost,” she continued.

“Ultimately, we felt Barnett Waddingham met our criteria the closest and we are looking forward to building a dynamic working relationship with Melanie and her team.”

Adding to this, Barnett Waddingham partner and fund actuary, Melanie Durrant, said: “We are thrilled to be appointed to deliver actuarial, benefits and governance consultancy services to the Wiltshire Pension Fund.

"We look forward to a successful partnership, working closely with the Fund to ensure a smooth transition and to provide the best possible service for the Fund employers and members in the future.

“The Wiltshire Pension Fund stands out as a premier fund, delivering exceptional service to its stakeholders through robust governance and strong partnerships.

“Our aligned cultures ensure that Wiltshire Pension Fund can rely on us to uphold this commitment.”
