Swedish FI to open investigation into SH Pension

The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) has announced it will open an investigation into whether SH Pension Tjänstepensionsförening has complied with the provision to invest predominantly in regulated markets.

FI noted that the occupational pension regulations in Sweden aim to ensure that workplace pension companies can meet their pension obligations and protect the interests of current and future pensioners.

These regulations include several basic provisions that apply to all investments made by occupational pension companies.

Under the rules, occupational pension companies’ assets must be predominantly invested in regulated markets.

FI is set to open an investigation into whether SH Pension has met this requirement.

In response, SH Pension said it had been in discussions with FI since 2024 about its change towards a higher proportion of listed holdings.

“This development is going according to plan, and we assess that the portfolio will soon again meet the regulatory requirement to be predominantly invested in regulated markets,” SH Pension concluded.
