Pensioenfonds PostNL current funding ratio rose over the month

The current funding ratio of Pensioenfonds PostNL rose from 133.3 per cent in July to 133.9 per cent in August 2024.

However, compared to a year ago, in August 2023, the current funding ratio was 134 per cent. This current funding ratio was included in the calculation of the policy funding ratio.

This was replaced by the current funding ratio of July 2024 and 133.9 per cent, almost identical to the current funding ratio of a year ago.

Given this, the policy funding ratio remained the same at 132.6 per cent in August 2024, the same as in July.

Pensioenfonds PostNL said that at the current policy funding ratio, the pension fund is in “relatively good shape”.

Additionally, the interest rates fell slightly in the past month, which had a negative effect on the current funding ratio. The value of the investments increased in August, which had a positive effect on the funding ratio.
