Pensioenfonds PostNL funding ratio sees slight increase

The funding ratio of Pensioenfonds PostNL saw a slight increase in March 2024, rising from 130.5 per cent to 130.8 per cent.

The Dutch pension fund said interest rates fell in the past month, which had a negative effect on the current funding ratio. However, the value of investments rose in March having a positive effect. Added together, this led to the slight increase in the current funding ratio.

Year-on-year the funding ratio has fallen by 0.5 of a percentage point, down from 131.3 per cent in March 2023.

In addition, the policy coverage ratio, which is the average of the current funding ratios over the past 12 months, stood at 132.3 per cent. In February it was 132.6 per cent. The pension fund said that the current policy funding ratio means it is in “relatively good shape”.
