Pensioenfonds PostNL funding ratios continue to improve

The policy funding ratio of Pensioenfonds PostNL rose to 126.2 per cent in May, up from 125 per cent in April, according to the fund’s latest quarterly report.

Alongside improvements in the policy funding ratio, the current funding ratio has shown the fund to be in "relative good shape", rising from 135.1 per cent in April to 136.2 per cent in May.

This also marks a year-on-year improvement from May 2021, when the fund recorded a current funding ratio of 121.7 per cent.

Whilst the value of the fund’s investments fell in May, negatively impacting the current funding ratio, this was more than offset by trends in interest rates, which rose for the fifth consecutive month in May.

The fund also stressed that it regularly discusses developments in the markets and in the investment portfolio with the investment advisers, confirming that no additional measures are required at this time, with a crisis plan already in place to help provide guidance.
