Pensioenfonds PostNL appoints Vandena van der Meer as chairman of the board

Pensioenfonds PostNL has appointed Vandena van der Meer as chairman of the board, effective from 1 January 2025.

Van der Meer has worked in the pensions industry for 20 years.

Previously, she was a director at ABP and its pensions committee chair. She is also an adviser at Montae & Partners, where she was previously a partner. She has advised employers, social partners, and pension funds on pension change processes.

Commenting on her appointment, Pensioenfonds PostNL chairman of the board, Vandena van der Meer, said: “I think the PostNL Pension Fund is a great fund. It manages the pensions of (former) postmen, parcel deliverers, mail sorters, and employees of the PostNL head office.

“They are close to all Dutch people because they ensure that mail and parcels are personally delivered to the door. They do that every day and that is quite a puzzle.

“I feel honoured that as chairman of the board, I can contribute to the transition to the new pension scheme for Pensioenfonds PostNL.

“I do this together with the board and our stakeholders. What do I want to achieve with this? A reliable pension, for all participants of our fund.”

Van der Meer will replace René van de Kieft.

Pensioenfonds PostNL thanked René van de Kieft for his years of dedication and “warmly” welcomed van de Meer to its pension fund.
