Dutch pension fund PMT has appointed Josje Wijckmans to its board on behalf of the pensioners, replacing Mieke van Veldhuizen, who stepped down.
In her new role, Wijckmans is responsible for the supply chain management portfolio, including outsourcing, information management, portfolio management and information security and serves as a member of the pensions committee.
Additionally, she has extensive knowledge of pension regulations, actuarial issues, outsourcing and supply chain collaboration.
Van Veldhuizen joined the board in 2022 on behalf of pensioners and later served as chair on an interim basis on behalf of employees and pensioners. On 1 January 2026, she handed the role over to Caspar Vlaar.
Commenting on her departure, PMT chairs, Terry Troost and Caspar Vlaar, said: “Mieke has made a significant contribution to the solid foundation that is now in place. Under her chairmanship, PMT successfully transitioned to the new pension scheme and the strategy for the coming years has been refined.”
These board changes come as the fund adapts its governance structure to ensure it can continue to manage the organisation “carefully and decisively” in the years ahead.
As a result, the number of board members was reduced from 12 to nine, and the board now operates on a portfolio basis.
With a more streamlined composition and a portfolio-based system, PMT said the structure is better suited to the challenges of the coming years.
The fund also explained that portfolio management ensures clearly defined responsibilities and supports the board in monitoring the coherence between policy, decision-making and implementation, and in responding promptly to developments in the sector and in legislation and regulations.
It also suggested that the transition to the new pension scheme and the refined strategy make this an "opportune moment for this step".
However, PMT noted that it was already considering the future governance structure needed during the transition to the new pension scheme.
