Nordea Liv appoints Anders Granstad as its new CEO

Nordea Liv has appointed Anders Granstad as its new CEO, replacing Hans-Erik Lind, who transferred to the position of head of business banking in December 2025.

Granstad will take up the position on 1 April, subject to approval by the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority.

He joins from Nordea Norway, where he held the position of deputy head of retail banking and was also responsible for customer contact.

Granstad has been with the bank since 2010, and over the past 16 years, he has held several management positions across various areas of the bank.

Commenting on the appointment, Nordea Life and Pension executive vice president, Per Långsved, said the company is “very pleased” to have Granstad join the team.

“Nordea Life and Pension is growing in Norway and has strengthened its position in several areas in recent years. We have a clear ambition to become the leading player in the Nordic region in the interaction between banking, savings and insurance, and Anders will help to further strengthen cooperation across the Nordic region, in line with our focus on the Nordic scale,” he said.

"Anders has a strong customer focus and broad operational and strategic experience. This will be important in a phase where growth, savings and the development of even better customer experiences are central to us.”

Långsved also thanked Maria Seim, who led the company in an “excellent manner” during the interim period.

Commenting on his own appointment, Granstad said: “Nordea Life and Pension has enjoyed stable growth in recent years and delivered good results under Hans-Erik Lind's leadership.

“We are now embarking on an important strategic initiative for Nordea in Norway and for Nordea Liv. In these uncertain times, it is important for us to continue to be a reliable partner for our customers and to help more people secure their future through good savings and pension solutions.

“I have great respect for the expertise that exists in the organisation I am now going to lead, and I am really looking forward to getting to know, learning from and working with the people at Nordea Life and Pension.”

Additionally, Lind endorsed Granstad's appointment, saying: “As head of Nordea Liv, you are responsible for managing people's futures, and I am confident that Anders Granstad is the right man for the job”.
