News in brief: 13 May

- Tumelo has raised USD 19m after completing a Series A round of funding led by Treasury and Say Technologies.

Further investors included Legal & General, Fidelity International Strategic Ventures, and Nucleus Adventure Capital, who join existing investors, including Jeremy Coller. The investment aims to enhance the platform to enable more investors to exercise their shareholder rights and extend Tumelo’s outreach across the UK. It will also support Tumelo’s expansion into the US, Australia and additional market segments.

- BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has announced the launch of the BNP Paribas Sustainable Asian Cities Bond fund, a fixed-income fund aiming to capture the growth opportunities offered by sustainable urbanisation in Asia.

The launch of BNP Paribas Sustainable Asian Cities Bond is part of the expansion of BNPP AM’s range of sustainable thematic solutions, with a two-pronged approach to the selection of portfolio holdings: sustainable labelled bonds and bonds from issuers involved in activities that contribute to aspects of sustainable cities.

- Helsinger Municipality has chosen PensionDanmark to develop a new area that combines sustainable and community-oriented housing with the re-establishment of nature.

The summer town will include four communal houses with a focus on crafts, physical activity, food and senior gatherings. The project also aims to resort the original nature with forest edges and coastal landscape in the area, which today houses Elsinore’s former stadium.
