Italy’s Fondaereo, the supplementary pension fund for air transport navigators, reported its assets grew by over €7m in 2024, reaching around €423m in total.
The fund also said in 2024 it had 1,451 new pilots, flight attendants, and dependents choose Fondaereo as their pension fund, bringing the total number of members to over 11,000, a 70 per cent increase compared to pre-pandemic membership figures.
The fund recorded net returns of 8.98 per cent in the growth fund, 5.32 per cent in the balanced fund, and 2.79 per cent in the guaranteed fund.
Members who were part of these three investment profiles saw their value increase by a minimum of 6.35 per cent to a maximum of 8.17 per cent.
In addition to this, its results also found that 50 per cent of the fixed membership fee paid in 2024 was refunded, €36 for pilots and €20 for flight attendants. An additional €24,000 was refunded, increasing the fund's assets.
“Fondaereo starts the new year in good health, bolstered by the growing number of members, excellent financial management results, and increasingly efficient administrative management,” Fondaereo said.
