Francine van Dierendonck is to leave the executive board of the Dutch pension asset manager, APG, after six years.
Van Dierendonck, who is responsible for the fund management and participant and employer services business units, will leave on 1 October. Since taking up her position, she has ensured that participant orientation has been embedded in APG’s processes.
“I look back on a wonderful and intensive time at APG,” Van Dierendonck said. “Six years ago I started at this wonderful company with the task of making our organisation more participant-focused. We’ve done that successfully, thanks in part to the urgency of the new Dutch Pensions Act.
“We listened to the needs of participants and employers more and more, built a new administration system, and embedded participant focus in the processes. During this enormous rebuild, APG continued to operate as usual. Now that everything is ready for the transition to the renewed pension system, my job is done. In the coming months, I will be handing over my responsibilities. I will be doing so with a sense of great pride and gratitude. I will clarify more about my future steps at a later date.”
APG board of trustees chair, Annette Mosman, said: “I am extremely grateful to Francine for what she has accomplished and the professional way in which she has directed the process of making our pension organisation participant-focused. She has set the standard for our sector. We are on the eve of the biggest pension reform ever. Participant confidence in the system is crucial at this stage and with her retail experience Francine has made a huge contribution to this.”
Annette Mosman will take over Van Dierendonck’s duties with the executive board. Together with the supervisory board, a final solution will be sought. Effective 1 October 2024, the executive board will consist of Annette Mosman (CEO), Maarten Blacquière (CFRO) and Ronald Wuijster (CEO of APG Asset Management).
