Finnish earnings-related pension transfers amount to €117.3m in Q2

The total volume of Finnish earnings-related pension transfers between April and June 2022 amounted to €117.3m, the Finnish Pension Alliance (Tela) has revealed.

Policyholders can transfer their TyEL/YEL policies from one pension insurance company to another provided that the earnings-related pension insurance has been obtained from the same company for at least one year before the transfer.

Transfers between companies have four deadlines during the year: on the first day of January, April, July and October.

Over the period in Q2 the number of TyEL policies transferred amounted to 1,549 and the number of policies transferred under the Self-Employed Persons’ Pensions Act (YEL) was 2,279. This means a total of 3,828 policies were transferred in total.

In the previous quarter, January to March 2022, the number of earnings-related pension insurance policies transferred from one pension insurance company to another totalled over 5,100. Transfers under the Employees Pensions Act (TyEL) numbered 2,180 and under the Self-Employed Persons’ Pensions Act (YEL) 2,929.

In Q1 the value of the transfers amounted to €116.2m.
