Finland’s Ilmarinen appoints Turkka Kuusisto as Supervisory Board chairman

Finnish earnings-related pension provider Ilmarinen has appointed Turkka Kuusisto as chairman of its Supervisory Board, effective 24 March following the company’s annual meeting.

Following the annual meeting, Kuusisto will also start his position as chair of Ilmarinen's Election Committee.

Kuusisto currently serves as Finnair CEO and president and holds several board positions. He is a board member at both the China Office of Finnish Industries and the Confederation of Finnish Industries. He also serves as chair of the board at Palta.

He succeeds Ilkka Hämälä, who has been a member of Ilmarinen's Supervisory Board since 2009 and has served as Supervisory Board chairman since 2021.

Ilmarinen confirmed that SOL Palvelut Oy chairman of the board of directors, Juhapekka Joronen, and Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland TEK executive director, Jari Jokinen, will continue as vice chairs of the Supervisory Board.
