Finland’s Elo approves new Responsibility Programme

The board of directors of the Finnish earnings-related pension provider, Elo, has approved a new Responsibility Programme.

The announcement was made in the pension provider’s Sustainability Report 2023.

The programme has three priorities: Insuring responsibly, building a humane working life and investing in the future. The priorities bring together the most important themes of the business and are strongly anchored in Elo's strategy, it stated.

Furthermore, the report noted that in 2023, Elo applied for EcoVadis certification for the first time. Elo's operations were assessed at the silver level, which is the best quarter for companies. The methodology used and the resulting rating are based on international sustainability standards such as the UN Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and ISO 26000.

In preparation for the revision of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, Elo prepared a gap analysis and value chain mapping in several workshops to compare current reporting with standards.

As part of the reporting development, its Sustainability Report 2023 was pre-certified by an external certifier.
