Dutch pension provider APG discontinues financial advice initiative

Dutch pension provider APG has announced it will discontinue its social initiative Kandoor from 30 August 2024.

Kandoor has been providing Dutch pension savers with free financial advice since 2015 and aimed to support Dutch people in making financial decisions.

However, APG stated that the initiative no longer aligns with its current strategy.

The APG executive board stated that it wanted innovations to be closely connected to the services offered to pension fund clients.

Therefore, it has decided to cease activities directed towards consumers, such as Kandoor.

Kandoor was one of the first initiatives to emerge from the GroeiFabriek in 2015 and has been funded through the innovation budget since then.

Following the decision to discontinue the initiative, discussions were held with other parties regarding a potential takeover of Kandoor, as the initiative was deemed to have demonstrated social value.

However, despite efforts from all parties involved, these discussions were not fruitful and did not yield the desired outcome.

Therefore, Kandoor will cease to exist from 30 August 2024.
