Danish pension company PenSam has acquired two properties in Greater Copenhagen, including 376 newly built apartments and nine commercial units.
The properties were taken over at the turn of the year (2024) and are Lyskildeen in Herlev and Kamillehuset in Rødovre.
Commenting on this, PenSam head of private capital and real assets, Jeppe Starup, said: "Both properties complement PenSam's property portfolio and are in line with our goal of strengthening our portfolio with high-quality properties in strategic locations with sustainable solutions, and both in residential and commercial areas.
“The long-term potential of the properties contributes to our goal of delivering stable and attractive returns to our 500,000 members while supporting the green transition.”
In addition to this, Starup thanked Alma Property Partners, AG Gruppen and Heimstaden Bostad for a good and professional process and for making the transactions possible.
Lyskildeen consists of 231 sustainable homes and 231 parking spaces spread over 18,824 meters squared and was acquired from Alma Property Partners and AG Gruppen.
It is located in the new Marienlund area in Herlev. It is currently being transformed into a modern and mixed district with support from major infrastructure investments such as a future light rail station.
The property offers a wide range of facilities to residents including a green courtyard, playground, fitness equipment, communal greenhouses, planted nooks, and a shared roof terrace. Sustainability and well-being were a focus of the project and is certified with DGNB Gold.
Meanwhile, Kamillehuset was acquired from Heimstaden Bostad and has a total area of 19,959 meters squared including common areas and underground parking.
The property was built in 2022 and has 145 residential units, nine commercial units, and 150 parking spaces as well as large green areas that are centrally located just 900 meters from Rødovre Centrum, close to schools, shopping opportunities, and public transport.
In the construction, there was a strong focus on sustainable initiatives, such as solar cells and biodiversity (planting) in the common areas.
