APS ČR former vice president Radek Moc elected as president

The Association of Pension Companies of the Czech Republic (APS ČR) has elected its former vice president, Radek Moc, as the new president, taking over from Aleš Poklop, who is stepping down after more than a decade in the position.

Moc is Generali Penzijni Spolecnost chairman of the supervisory board and served as APS ČR vice president until last year.

Alongside Moc’s appointment, two new vice presidents were elected. Allianz pension company board member and Allianz Insurance Czech Republic board member, Josef Lukášek, and ČS PS chairman of the supervisory board, Libor Vošický.

Additionally, KB pension company, chairman of the board of directors, Jiří Šperl, has been appointed as a new member of the presidium.

Commenting on his appointment, Moc said: “I am taking over the leadership of the pension association at a time when a debate is opening up about possible adjustments to pension parameters.

“Supplementary pension savings are an exceptional product with excellent returns, and it will now be up to the newly elected management of the APS ČR to defend it as an essential supplement to the state pension and to show that it significantly helps to compensate for the financial shortfall that usually occurs after the end of economically active life.”

Poklop was the longest-serving president since the establishment of APS ČR in 1996, having held the position since 2015. He has also ended his tenure as Česká Spořitelna – pension company chairman of the board of directors.

The APS ČR thanked Poklop for “his many years of service and wishes him much success in the future” and congratulated all the newly elected members and wished Moca "every success in his leadership and future endeavours".
