AP Pension launches new digital business system

AP Pension has launched a new cloud-based digital business system developed with the Danish FinTech company, Festina Finance.

The system went live on 1 May 2025, and the first corporate customers have been signed up.

AP Pension said the new system was built on a “modern and flexible” IT platform that would "future-proof" its digital infrastructure and enhance the customer experience.

The system aims to provide increased flexibility and enable more innovative products, AI-automated processes, and a smoother customer journey.

The firm said the new software was part of its digital strategy, which intends to offer a pension concept and digital solutions that "significantly improve" the customer experience.

"With the new core system, we are taking an important step towards modernising our digital platforms by using AI and strengthening our position as a customer-owned pension company," claimed AP Pension CIO, Pia Werner Alexandersen.

"The overall business system is the foundation for accelerating our digital transformation. At the same time, it allows us to adapt to customer needs more quickly," he added.

Festina Finance head of innovation, Morten Schantz, highlighted his company's role in creating the programme.

"We are very satisfied with the collaboration, which has been crucial for developing a joint product," he said.

"Festina Finance is with us all the way to the finish line,” added Werner Alexandersen.

AP Pension explained that the new system would be implemented “gradually” to ensure a smooth and controlled transition.

The pension fund added that experience and feedback would be collected continuously so that the solution could be optimised for the benefit of both customers and employees.
