Obituary: Tjahny Bercx

Dutch financial services provider Achmea has announced that its Supervisory Board member, Tjahny Bercx, has died.

The Supervisory Board and the Executive Board of Achmea B.V. said they are “deeply saddened by the passing of Tjahny”, who passed on Thursday 2 July in Amsterdam at the age of 63, following a short illness.

Tjahny had been a valued member of Achmea's Supervisory Board since October 2021 and was also a member of the Supervisory Boards of Achmea Schadeverzekeringen N.V. and Hagelunie N.V.

“We will greatly miss Tjahny’s warm personality within our Supervisory Board. We owe him a debt of gratitude for his valuable contribution to our organisation. With his great dedication and positive attitude, Tjahny has left an indelible mark,” Achema said.

“Our thoughts are with his wife and children and all those who were dear to him. We wish them much strength and courage as they come to terms with this great loss.”

European Pensions would like to pass on our deepest sympathies to Tjahny's family and to his friends and colleagues within the pensions sector.
