The pandemic and consequent economic and financial crisis we have been going through since January 2020 are unprecedented. The cost will be steep, but such is the price to save lives. Yet, there is an even greater danger looming on the horizon: climate change. The World Health Organisation estimates that an uncontrolled rise in average global temperature would cause at least a quarter of a million additional deaths every year between 2030 and 2050, with increasingly crushing economic consequences.

Join Professor Martin Siegert, alongside expert speakers from BNP Paribas Asset Management, as they explore the harsh reality of climate change and what it means for Nordic institutional investors and their portfolios. All registered delegates will also have the opportunity to submit their speaker questions (in advance or live on the day) which will be tackled in Q&A sessions at the end of each seminar presentation.

Presenters on the day include:
Keynote Speaker:Professor Martin Siegert, Professor of Geosciences and co-Director of the Grantham Institute, Imperial College London
Mark Lewis, Chief Sustainability Strategist, BNP Paribas Asset Management
Ulrik Fugmann,Co-head of Environmental Strategies Group, BNP Paribas Asset Management

These expert speakers will explore the science behind climate change, explain the impact on investments and outline the solutions available to help Nordic institutional investors tackle the challenges ahead.

High level topics:
Climate change – the science and the effects
Deep decarbonisation – the direct and indirect implications
How decarbonisation can be approached and what it means for institutional investors
The environmental solutions available to Nordic pension funds today
Why energy transition is so important
How investing in this area can make a positive impact and provide returns for Nordic investors
